Day sixty one

16 miles today, 15 on the pct. I took a side trail at the end to the east side of Lake Thomas Edison, where I got a ferry ride to Vermillion Valley Resort to resupply.

It’s Friday night, which means pizza night. I had a decent size meat lovers all to myself, and topped it with an ice cream sandwich, a Milky Way bar, and a couple beers. My stomach feels like it could explode but also like it could take another whole pizza.

I’m catching the 9am ferry tomorrow morning to start my 65 mile stretch to Tuolumne Meadows, which I’m hoping to cover quickly. It’s closed for a major renovation right now, so camping isn’t allowed within 4 miles on either side. There is a pop up post office for resupply boxes, where I’ll get my food for the next 100 miles.

Not sure if I’ll be keeping up with blogging every day – going to try to use my phone less on this stretch. I’ve got to go 10ish days between being able to charge so I’ll need to be pretty thrifty with my juice if I want to be able to coordinate meeting up with my folks for a resupply/potential zero day on the far side.
