Day sixty five

Made it through Tuolumne Meadows today and got another resupply box. It was quite a pretty walk along the meadow, and I enjoyed reading the informational signs. It went back to our regularly scheduled evening thunderstorms today, and I almost outsped it but finally had to give in and wear my rain coat the last half mile to camp.

Since most of the infrastructure around Tuolumne Meadows is being rebuilt, there was a pop-up post office – literally just a guy there under a pop up tent holding packages for hikers. He was a pretty nice guy, and had his own little hiker box going. He also had a power strip set up to let folks charge, which was pretty nice since I was worried about my battery pack lasting a full 10 days.

Hoping to get 20 miles under my belt quickly enough tomorrow that I can swim in the lake I plan to camp by, but that’s a ways to go and the prospect of a cold swim in 12 hours isn’t much incentive to get me out of a warm sleeping bag in the morning…
