Day twenty seven

17 miles today and I’m now 5000 vertical feet higher up than I was last night. All things considered, my legs held up great!

Heading into wrightwood tomorrow to resupply and I’m stuck between two choices. I’m can do the backtracking one pct mile and then side trail I mentioned in the day twenty six post, but all together that would add roughly 9 miles just to get back to my same spot. OR I can hike five miles further to where state route CA 2 intersects the trail and be so brave and hitch a ride. I haven’t hitched yet and I’m pretty nervous about it! I don’t wanna go up to strangers at the trailhead parking lot and ask if they’re heading east and if they have room to take a pct hiker into wrightwood! It’s far easier to envision myself doing the nine miles of walking than talking to who knows how many strangers till I get a ride.

I know it’s supposed to be easier to get a ride solo, but I sure would appreciate being around another pct hiker right now. Would make the social challenge of hitching a little less daunting.

Where I stopped for my siesta feat the bush I slept under!
Nice views looking north!
